Come join Rhonda, Karen and Sither Oct. 8th thru 18th, 2019 for a small group (6-10) Photography and Cultural Tour of the Kingdom of Happiness, Bhutan. I visited Bhutan 10 years ago. It is one of the highlights of my travels and on many people’s bucket lists. I am excited that Sither will be our guide there. His strong ties and connections with people in his country allows for unique opportunities and access.

Bhutan, aka Land of Thunder Dragon, is a photographer’s dream with a country of unspoiled beauty, rare and endangered birds, authentic culture and traditions, and warm people-possibly because they place more weight on being internally happy than on materialistic pleasures.

We will visit Dzongs and centuries old temples: witness mask and traditional dances performed by monks at a local festival in traditional Chamkar town, we will attend the sacred fire blessings at the Thangbi Mani festival near Bumthang: stop for panoramic views on prayer-flag festooned mountain passes; look for the endangered black necked cranes in Gangtey Valley; photograph farmers harvesting their crops by traditional hand methods; and end the trip with a pilgrimage hike up to the famous Taktshang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest).

By working with a recognized expert photographer and by keeping the group sizes small, skill and flexibility is in perfect concert for a remarkable photography and travel experience. Karen Kasmauski, a veteran National Geographic Magazine photographer, will accompany our group and will offer photo tips to help you make the most memorable pictures during this extraordinary excursion.

This intimate journey is limited to just 8 -10 people. Cost is $6,700 per person ($1,675 deposit & remaining $5,025 on June 30, 2019) for dual accommodation and additional $300 charge for single accommodations. The package includes professional guide in Bhutan, Nat Geo Photographer, Bhutan Visa, accommodations, tips, food and non-alcohol drinks while in Bhutan, transportation (including internal flight), Round-trip international flights Bangkok /Paro. Travelers are responsible for their own flights to and from Bangkok and Travel Insurance (To be purchased within 7 days of deposit.)
