EXPLORE THE ANCIENT ROMANCE AND MYSTERY OF JORDAN: PETRA IS CALLING! with Karen Kasmauski & Rhonda Chapin May 6 thru 14, 2019

Our journey begins in the Jordanian capital of Amman. We will venture to ancient cities, temples from Roman times, the site where Jesus was baptized and castles built by the crusaders. We explore Petra, one of the modern Wonders of the World. We will also have the opportunity to photograph the site at night, as evening illumination transforms Petra’s rose walls into a dreamscape of fantastic colors. Finally, we travel to Wadi Rum (Home of Lawrence of Arabia). Here, rock formations, petroglyphs and Bedouin camps offer numerous photographic opportunities. We will be touring this vast desert in a Bedouin-driven jeep and end the day with traditional Bedouin music, dancing and food. This intimate journey is limited to just 8 people. Cost is $4,890 per person for dual accommodations, with an additional $1,000 charge for single accommodations. The package includes five-star lodging, most meals, night shoot in Petra, Camel ride, tips and guides. Travelers are responsible for their own flights to and from Jordan and Travel Insurance.

We will be visiting Dzongs and centuries old temples; witness mask and traditional dances performed by monks at the festival in Bumthang; stop for panoramic views on prayer-flag festooned passes; look for the endangered black necked cranes in Gangtey valley, photograph farmers harvesting their crops by traditional hand methods, and end the trip on the last day with a hike up to the famous Taktshang monastery (Tiger’s Nest). Cost is $6,700 per person for dual accommodations, with an additional $300 charge for single upgrade. The package includes in country transportation and international flights to and from Bangkok on Druk Air, lodging, meals, tips and guides.
